5. Talking To Your Partner

YOUR RELATIONSHIP & ED

Dealing with ED is not only difficult for men it can also affect their partners.

For most men being able to get and keep an erection as long as they want and when they want, is important. Not being able to, can impact on a man’s self-esteem and feelings of masculinity . Understandably, some men become depressed, withdrawn, moody or quick-tempered. Frustration and embarrassment are also common feelings that can sometimes lead him to find excuses for not having sex or to ignore his partner’s hints and suggestions. Some men become anxious during intimacy or sex, which can make it even more difficult to get an erection. However, it doesn’t mean that his feelings for his partner have changed.

While it may seem that ED is a male problem, women are often confused and concerned when their partner develops an erection problem. Their partner’s withdrawal of physical affection can leave a woman feeling rejected. Either partner can feel frustrated, declining attempts at intimacy Sexual problems can sometimes be difficult to discuss but talking it over and getting your partner’s support can really help.
